Göreme landscape
another rainy, chilly day so we decided against "the green tour" in favour of our own trip to Derinkuyu, the underground city.
this meant sacrificing a trip to the Ihlara Valley & The Selime Rock Monastery but we couldn't bear getting soaked again--plus we hadn't originally planned on these places anyway.

after a leisurely breakfast we hopped a dolmus to Nevsehir then another to Derinkuyu.

it was kind of raining when we left so instead of a hike we came back to Göreme and easily tooled around for a few hours.

bought some Türkish music (local dub/reggae band, Baba Zula), a mini but functional nargileh, and of course some more local wine.

had a cheap and delicious dinner at Firin Express, but we did book a rezo for tomorrow night at Dibek for traditional "testi kebap"--the local specialty.
decided to stay longer in Cappadocia that originally planned so got our bus tickets back to Istanbul for friday night...plus Ilhami and Miriam are helping to fax my letter to the Türkish army to get into the Florence Nightingale museum.
early bed time tonight to wake up at 5am (!!) to take flight....in a balloon!
